This is an excellent guide to social media. It was produced by Leeds, York and Manchester University Libraries for their students but it will help anyone who wants to start using social media effectively in all areas of their lives whether with friends, for research, other professional activities and for work.
Jisc Inform Journal
Jisc, the Joint Information Systems Committee researches and develops new education related technologies and ways of working. The Jisc Inform Journal provides information and news on which technologies are being used, and how they are being used, in universities around Britain. It is currently published four times a year. The Jisc web site provides relevant and useful advice, digital content and network and IT services.

Have a look at their site where you will also find links to their other programmes, WriteCheck, iThenticate, Turnitin for Admissions and plagiarism.org. UseMyAbility is a web site jointly created by Dr Val Chapman (UW), Dr Phil Gravestock (UG) and Judith Waterfield from ASSIST. The site provides guidance on employability, especially for those with a disability. It has useful information and links for students, staff and employers.
